Holy cow; so glad I was able to make it. I wish I could put into words the sound of the show; I've seen more than my fair of concerts, and I've never heard a show sound as good. As Andrew put it, "they know what they're doing."

And they used lots of colors in their light show! Like blue! And green! And red!

They had amazing sound on fhe fall 2004 tour--I saw them two consecutive nights, at the Oakland Paramount Theatre and then the Fillmore, and the bootlegs I have of those shows are some of the clearest, most hi-fidelity in my collection (I can get you copies if you like.) You can even hear my friend Matt drunkenly request "Casino Queen" and jeff Tweedy making fun of "the intelligence of the average rock fan."

I know this is off-topic, but I think this post makes me finally want to throw my N95 out. As I've made no secret of, I've been unhappy with the phone but I've been consoling myself with the fact that at least it has a nice 5 megapixel camera with Zeiss optics. But we were standing next to each other and your pictures don't look different enough from mine to matter.

@Djchall... I was also at both those Paramount and Fillmore shows and remember the Casino Queen request! So funny that was your friend. At the Greek on Friday, Tweedy used the same line that he used at the Fillmore show: "the guys last night were smoking so much more pot that you are tonight." For those keeping track (and using some transitive logic), Portland > East Bay > San Francisco, as far as pot smoking goes.
