Watch Beau cut mango
So lately the kids have been enjoying mango -- they love it with breakfast. But their untalented father has absolutely no idea how to actually slice a mango -- they just seem structurally very strange, and I never seem to know how the seed is oriented, much less how to slice it optimally to get the most out of it.
Yesterday morning, after watching me butcher yet another beautiful piece of fruit, my daughter Kate says to me "Hey, Dad - why don't you get Beau to show you?" (She's a huge fan of the Watch Beau cut pineapple video, of course.) So without further ado, we present the second in our ongoing series of fruit slicing extravaganzas, "Watch Beau cut mango."
There's one moment there when he accidentally dropped a piece, and the camera goes all crazy, but not to worry. The rest of the mango was absolutely delicious.

My vote for the next episode is for coconuts. It always seems to end in tears and a big fat mess at our house.
Oh, and pomegranites would be nice too.

video in progress...
Sorry.
1 Absolutely no peeling.
The skin is a handle for later AND you can eat it.
2 Cut the two sides of the seed (like the video)
3 Cut diamond diagonals into the sections from the flesh face down to the skin, not through the skin.
4 2 hands, press the skin to push out the diamond cubes and Voila! a perfect array of cubes sitting on a cup of the skin which you hold while getting the juices all over your face and clothes as you eat it.
5 If you got this far and it's a nice day rub the de-fleshed skin over your face and let it dry. Its a perfect facial toner and moisteriser combined. Wash it off later.
I shoulda made a video.
