Hey, cool... John Zorn won a genius grant!  The $500k prize now confirms that he's not only a genius, but a soooooper genius.  Zorn basically defined the genre of "difficult listening soundtrack music that puts everyone's teeth on edge and makes their blood pressure go up for quick 30 second bursts of chaos."  W00t!

If you're uninitiated, there's no better place to start than Naked City.  I saw him at Slim's years and years ago, when I actually made it out of the house on weekends, and the whole audience was just jittery after the show.  There's really no better way to describe it.  Jittery.
