yeah, sure. but this is the red carpet inside the moscone center in sf. this particular carpet is about 100 yards away from the massive tent they've constructed between the north and south halls in that place that usually goes by the name HOWARD STREET. it's insanity, i tell you. insanity. anything even near the moscone center is now red and white, and next week it's going to just be gross.
Everything is red. Even the blood they squeeze from their poor engineers to create software that never actually works, but somehow sells like hotcakes.
it seems to cost less to close a street for a week than the $15mm in direct taxes paid to the city by Oracle and the corresponding windfall of bed taxes, sales taxes, etc...from all the people in from out of town...
So, in retrospect, it might not have been a bad deal.
